Question: Recently bought a 99 32' Holiday Rambler Vacationer. After changing tires and packing hubs, the ABS light, check engine light both came on. The speedometer doesn't work and the engine shuts down when making a left turn. All sensors have been checked. Computer reads trouble code P0500. Speed sensor in rear end was changed. Pigtail replaced. Speed sensor checked and is putting out a pulse. Is there a speed sensor in the transmission? Build date 5/98 E40D not 4R100. Need a manual on the chassis. Thanks
You might want to try getting the ABS codes read, which will help. If you played with the front ABS sensors, I would check there. They should put out a small AC voltage when you spin the wheel. Something like .1-.3 volts or thereabouts.
You MIGHT have a speedo-gear in the tranny, and there is a sensor on it. There is also an output-shaft speed sensor in the tranny I believe, and you should check that also.
I would definitely get a service manual for it, with the EVTM (electrical diagrams)...
