i need to put a 2" receiver on my truck and would like to know which brand is the best to use. reese has always been preety good and reliable, but I like the way the hidden hitch round tube looks. also on my last truck i put on a curt receiver, but it was a bear to get in place. just wasnt the right fit. I was not happy, and I dont want to make that mistake again.
Why not look at a salvage yard for a wrecked 04-08 with factory hitch? get the plugs too.

I have a factory tow package, but I know reese is good and my father has put on several off brands on his trucks through the years. One is called Acme, no joke, just like in the cartoons. He bought those at a farm store called Rural King, which is a chain where I'm from. I disagree on the round tube hitches, I hate them, I think they look terrible. But, that's just my opinion. Isn't the factory hitch welded on. You just cant unbolt it can you like a regular hitch? I guess I need to look at mine closer, but I thought it was welded.

It's a combination rear bumper mount / hitch reciever that bolts to the rear of the truck's frame and includes factory trailer plugs, though he may have to find the harness or wire them.
