5-speed swap
i want to swap a 5-speed into my 78 2wd camper special 400m it is a 4- speed now the truck is all stock with 70,000 on it but when my grandpa still had it he let people use it and they killed third gear so if it needs to come out i want a 5 gear i will someday be putting a cummins in it but for now i want the 5 gear any help would be awesome thanks

cummins swap is out for this one i found a super cab so this one just needs a easy 5 speed swap

Ford Zf5 from a 460 truck. Not the easiest swap but then no other is either. Search this site and you'll find threads concerning this. I have one on the floor in my garage for a swap this winter.

The adapter for the Nv4500 swap is about $440 or so. It works for 1995 and later GM trans. I think it works for all Dodge trans. I had 2 of these around for different projects, one was a 93 and wouldn't work and the other was a 95 so I used it.
I haven't put the cab on it yet so I don't know how different the holes are, but have read posts here that there is a difference.
I just got the motor back and installed with the trans last week.
