I have a 1949 F1 6 cyl
my starter relay is on the right side I have seen it also on the left side, which is correct, any pictures of member's Firewall, to see what have you done with wire harness.
Thanks!
6 cyl batteries are on the left side. So your set up is correct. V8s and 52 6cyl batteries are on the right side.
His solenoid is on the right though.....It's always possible your truck had the engine swapped from V8 to IL6 or the batttery box got moved then subsequently the solenoid as well - not sure.
If the battery is on the right then it was installed correctly. It wasn't so much a matter of electrical harness work as much as it was physical space in the engine compartment.
My panel was factory with a 6 and solinoid and batt stand on driver side,...then an 8 was put in and you could barely check the oil in the 8 with the batt stand in the way so...I moved the stand but not the solenoid,....yet

<o> You guys are right, but my F1 is an original 6 cyl.
LOL.... I sell new & used auto parts, so I know my left & right side on my car, same thing happened with some of my customers
Left = Driver, Right= Pass
Nice looking truck, is that original paint?? I may need to shop in PR next time I need a camion!
You might want to jump those battery and starter cables up a size or two, if it's still 6v. It looks like a modern 12v cable, pretty slim, draped across the head. At the terminal it looks pretty decent except those clamp-on terminals are N/G for 6v.

Thanks, Cable upgrade has been done! also has been upgraded to 12 volts, thanks for the tip, maybe the firewall paint mite be original but outside was repainted, but for sure she was imported from the USA
Gracias Muchas
Any pictures of 6 cyl firewalls would be cool
Gracias!
Below is a picture of my firewall before I started to disassemble the truck. I'm fairly certain that this is the original setup. The only change I know of is that the previous owner converted it to 12 volts but that shouldn't have affected the location of the starter relay.
This is a 1950 F1 with a 6 cylinder engine - #97HC312907.
