Well im looking for a gauge setup... Something like the edge insight... No programs just want to monitor functions... Is edge the best??? Were can I buy it at a good price and would dealer have issues with this for warranty work?????

I run the Edge Insight and absolutely love it. The only thing you can't monitor is fuel and oil pressure. Fuel pressure will be available in the near future from edge. As far as taking the truck in for warranty work...........just take it out, it takes less than 2 min. to install and 10 seconds to take out. Get the pod that velcos to the dash and its in and out.

 

Does the edge have any issues with functionality on a 05 PSD... Thought I read somewhere that there were some issues... Also where is the best place to purchase the edge with pod??? .. Is 299.00 the best price going ???? Also does it just plug into the obd port??? Were is the obd port located on the 2005 F350 PSD???... thank you

 

I am not aware of any issue but that is because i have an 04 and might not pay attention to issues with other years so hopefully someone else will chime in with that answer. As far as price......$299 is pretty much what you should expect to pay for the CS or $399 for the CTS if you want to hook up a back-up camera. I purchased mine from ebay but anywhere would be fine since edge will service the product if it has any issues.

Yes is does plug into the OBDII port which is located right under the dash on the driver side. It is mounted right at the front so its easy to get to.

You probably won't find the display with the pod so you will need to purchase them separately and don't forget the EGT probe, those DO NOT come with the display for $299. And now that the new CS and CTS are out make sure you buy the correct probe because they are not compatible with the probe that was used with the old Insight.

The ScanGauge ll also does the same functions for 159 bucks. Reads anything going thru the obd ll connector. I left mine in for the egr/oil cooler repair, under warranty, and the dealer had no problem with it. In fact the tech said he probably played with it for about an hour.
