I have a 2003 ford F150 4.2 manual hydraulic internal slave cylinder.
I replaced the clutch. bled the master cylinder and slave cylinder went to start the truck and the pedal was hard as a rock. Is the slave cylinder stuck, do i have a bad quick disconnect? Ive spend over 30 hours of research calling shops and reading but cant figure this out! So I went to push on the clutch and thought ill just push the pedal really hard. The quick disconnect popped out! I took a look at it and the little piece of plastic that holds the o ring in the center broke in half and pushed the O ring out(not the o ring and the plastic sleeve on the outside of the quick disconnect)... why did the system bleed but have a hard pedal? did I not have a complete connection, is the slave cylinder bad, whats going on on! Please help pros!
You likely have a restricted slave cylinder.I would remove it,and inspect. If you have ANY doubts replace it,bleed the system, and you should be good to go.

The slave cylinder was not restricted before I removed the old clutch nor did it have a hard pedal.. you dont think it could be a bad connect between the slave cylinder and master cylinder?

The autozone repair forum notes :The self-adjusting clutch pressure plate should always be adjusted before installation.
I never adjusted the pressure plate? Is this necessary, could it be causing the issue?
ive never adjusted a pp but my big bro's ranger did the same thing and we found out they had bought a clutch line for a f150 so it was too long so they bent it and stuffed it between the cab and frame, pulled it out zip tied it up never had another problem you might have pinched the line alittle restricing the clutch fluid flow, or it may be your master cyclinder, and idk about the 1997 and up but the 1996 to 1987 had an adjustment slpine under the dash you could disconecct and adjust the pedal in or out
