2002 2.3 starting issues.

The engine had been running rough under 2500 rpms. I replaced the coil pack and it ran great.
A few days ago I filled the truck up with fuel and noticed the gas guage still read empty. The truck then would shut off when idling in a driveway, which happened on an incline. I rolled the truck to flat area, removed the gas filler cap and it started right up. The next stop I was on an incline and it quit again. I rolled it to a decline and it started right up. I drove it to the next driveway, parked it on a level surface. It quit and would not start again.

The a/c may or may not have played a role. It blows cold but the compressor would kick out for few minutes then back on. I added a can of 134 when I replaced th coil pack, which improved performance. When the compressor kicked on the rpms would crater. I turned the a/c off during the starting issues on the different grades

I have not had time to try spark or starting fluid yet. Im betting a ground or a wiring problem at the tank ie low pressure pump and sending unit no worky at the same time.

Any ideas.

Sounds like a fuel delivery issue you may very well be on the right track with the wiring going to the tank
