Do not buy the flow tech exausht headers for your fe from this site Discount Exhaust Systems - Exhaust System Parts at Wholesale Prices. I called these people twice to make sure there headers would fit my app. The site told me they contacted Holley, and Holley said it was a perfect match. We'll the headers show up today and there for a small block. The company will not exchange the product. Now, I am stuck with a brand new set of headers for a 289. Guess it's time to chop cut and rebuilt them to work on my car.
What does the packing slip say they'll fit? Your application or a 289? Is there a part number on your paperwork to show they are for your application? Basically something to hold them to it...proof that it's their mistake, not yours. I believe an exchange is not out of order since they told you wrong. Ask to speak to the manager before you cut them up. That's BS. Good luck
I would think if the packing slip says 289 and their site states FE...they shouldn't have a problem working with you. Just make them aware of the issue.
The website lists engine size by litres. That might be where the problem is. They show a 5.8 for which to me says 351 SBF. They must have figured your 352 FE was really a 351W. If you gave them the 6.4 displacement (390) or 7.0 (427-428) you should have got the right FE headers? I think??? Anyway the ****** should replace them with the correct headers and send a call tag for the wrong headers. You need to be careful when you buy parts they have the correct engine series.
''******''...lol. Hopefully this isn't how they stay in business...taking people's money and screwing them over on a simple exchange. Speak to a manager and tell them to get their s**t straight. This is almost as bad as that one site many of us talked about a year or two ago where that idoit sold old dirty parts and would only exchange if ''He'' thought it was acceptable. He had all kinds of BS rules stated on his site along with his health issues that I found to be very unprofessional. I think he also had numerous complaints on him through the Better Bussiness Bureau.
As above, send a letter to the credit card company stating that you are disputing the charge because the wrong item was sent to you and the business will not/or refuses to exchange it. I'm pretty sure the card company will get in touch with the seller, probably by letter. Card companies have departments that deal with this sort of thibgs among others. I once had a person dispute a charge at my office by claiming he never signed a charge slip. I received a letter asking for a copy of my slip within so many days or the charge would be reversed. This was done about 2 months later and no doubt on purpose. Fortunately, I retain all my charge slips for 4 years so all I have to do is locate it. His name still is in the back of my mind so in the future, should he call, it will be suggested he go elsewhere.
if i ship them back i get money back. but i paid for a set of headers that would fit. i called these people two times they lied about calling flow tech because i told them i had a fe big block and flow tech would have told them that part would not work. but the guy seen that a 352&351w are both 5.8l. my what one cubic inch can make. i paid 150 for a set of headers that was promissed to fit my ride, they should have to give me what i paid for, but this is my last time buying somthing for my car online.
Most of the time its just as easy as calling the parts house and asking to talk to the Sales Mgr.. Dont speak to anyone less..Most calls are monitored.. Tell Him/Her that you have sent them plenty of business and this will be a problem in the future "If" they do not make it right with you.. That the person who took the order from you made a mistake and your willing to over look it this time if the problem is resolved in a quick manner.. and that you belong to many on-line Vehicle clubs..and this problem if not resolved will have to be posted as a warning for others to note that may be thinking of making a purchase from them in the future..
Keep us posted on what happens... But I always make it a habit of talking to guys in different forums to see what kind of Reputation a company has before they get my money..and if there a Sponsor of FTE also let IB Adrian, or IB Tim.. know about this..and maybe he'll step in and help..He's a pretty good guy !
