Thumbs down Fueling Problem

Every time I fuel up my truck it starts to continuiously spill out of the little air/ overfill valve. I try to go slow, pull the nozzel out a bit but still keeps spilling and drips all over the ground and my gas line. Anyone ever have this problem? You can tell by the picture where it leaks and has left a mark behind. Solutions?

Then next steps would be to take it apart and figure out where it is plugged.

plugged somewhere that it does not allow for a free flow.

No. only 36K bumper to bumper would cover it.

You should be able to take that hose loose at the opening to the tank real quick and just take a flashlight at the other end for a look down it.

that should only take a couple of minutes I would think.

okay i will try that for sure before i fuel up today. so take that hose off the fuel tank and then shoot a flash light down the filling side and look for blockage.
thanks

You maybe able to shine that light right at the point where the hose goes in the tank as well.

that is about the only thing I can think of short of dropping the tank.

Carbon cannisters...I know on gassers if they get clogged you can have a slow fill. They are located behind the rear axle up on the frame. You have to see if the vent hose is clogged.

But don't think this applies to diesels. Just thinking...

I think I may have found the problem. The three screws that hole the gas line in place were adjust to the lowest level for the valve to be hanging on a horizontal like angle, I just unscrewed the three screws and adjusted the gas line so the valve sits on a higher angle almost vertical. Hopefully this fixes the problem. Thanks for your input senix
