Alright so the guy I bought my truck from swore by this stuff (although he confessed he had no idea what it did), and used it every time he filled up. Personally I haven't been able to find anything conclusive on it from research. I used up the bottle, without knowing what it did, then didn't bother replacing it for like a month. It felt like my fuel economy went down, and I was filling up sooner than with it, and I noticed my fuel started to foam like I'd seen a few comments about in this forum, so I figured I'd pick it up again, and I fill up less, and I don't notice any foaming anymore, and my wallet seems to hurt a little less.
I can't tell if this is snake oil, or if it's really doing anything, or damaging my engine, anyone have any experience with it?
Also take into consideration, my location, and I've heard some sketchy things about Diesel fuel up in Canada.
Hmmm... are you thinking of an electric lift pump? Different from IP.
The electric pump is a replacement to the low pressure mechanical lift pump that pulls fuel from the tank to the filter, the one you're talking about lubricating with additives is the high-pressure Injection Pump midship-forward on your engine, that delivers fuel from the filter to the injectors.
Personally I use Diesel Kleen regularly, mainly because I want to preserve my IP. Our diesels were designed before ULSD (ultra-low-sulfur-diesel) became standard, and the ULSD doesn't have as much lubricity as the old stuff.
Crappy Tire carries Diesel Kleen, you should be able to find it there! It goes a LOT further than the Crappy Tire brand too; theirs is good for ~2 full fills and the diesel kleen 4 or 5 IIRC.
Our diesel suffers in Timmins due to it being -40C in the winter months... not much to be done about it in cold weather.

Yeah I suppose I had a brain fart, that makes much more sense in the context of the threads I read (it was never described).
Also the previous owner used Diesel Kleen, but when it ran out I tossed the can, and forgot what it was called, and never found the similar label on it, thanks for that, I'll be picking some up today.
I use Lucas Oil fuel additive. I don't use it all the time. I can really notice the difference in the way the engine runs when I use it. The engine is quieter and smoother, and yes the MPG goes up.
Yeah it's not like it's a night and day difference between the two, but it just feels like it's working better, and at like $10 a bottle that I buy like once a month I guess it's not that terrible an investment.
EDIT:
I also use Lucas, I'm sure other products work just as well, but I grew up working on the older trucks around my uncle and he swears by it (I mean 40+ years of owning/working on ford trucks, true slight bias, but still can't argue with years of experience), and I just find I have to shift down less going up hills with it in vs without, and it just feels smoother.
