Hello
I just put in the 6637 filter and did the foil delete and was suprised I didnt get any whistle from my turbo. Since I got the truck (about a month ago) I hasnt whistled, probably from the horrendous stock filter that the p.o. forgot to change. Now that I did the 6637 I can hear some whistle but its nothing like the stock 7.3 powerstroke at work. I also may have a boost leak at the plenum but havent had time to take the spider out and check. Could a boost leak make the turbo quiet? Just thinking out loud since it's been raining for 3 days and I cant wait to get back under the hood lol.
What is the condition of your wheel? What year is the truck at work? There is a possibility that the work truck has a WW on it that would count for the added whistle.
The wheel is in OK condition. It has some dusting and a few dings but no chunks missing or anything like that. The shaft has almost no play. The truck at work is a 98 E350 so that would give it the obs engine. Maybe its just me but it seems like on every PSD you can hear the whistle except mine.
I have a 99.5 with an ATS intake housing with the foil deleted from the IC tube, with a 6637 open filter,I can hear the turbo whistle but not like you would think.I also have new uppipes(NO LEAKS),I get a good sound of turbo/air,but not so much a whistle.

Your truck is a 2000 and the van is an early 99 (sorry there is no 98 actually) the E99 has a wicked wheel in it and the 2000 doesn't the WW will produce much more whistle that a reg wheel. For about $100 you can get a WW and your truck will sound like the E99.
We've got whistle now! After poking around under the hood I remember reading on here that it is a good idea to clean the EBP tube because it can clog. Well come to find mine had a hole in it and when I went to clean it - snap. I dont really know the function of this tube except it having to do with the EBPV closing, so after going to my "mechanic" (FTE) I read some guys just plug there tube and unhook the EBPV all together. So I did all this and she whistles just like she should now. At least until I straightpipe her lol. Thanks for the help guys
