Boost questions, DTC codes and a whistle
Quick rundown: Truck HAD poor power and low boost. Checked things out and it ended up being a bad wastegate actuator. I tied the wastegate back with wire and now the truck runs as it should. But I keep getting a couple codes that flash the light and then the light goes off.
one is an over boost code but I'm not really overboosting, the most boost that I saw was 28psi. And the other code is and exhaust back pressure high code. I don't have the exact code numbers as I cleared them. Are these critical? If not how can I stop them. My brother told me to run a "boost fooler", he has one but it's on his Dodge.
The whistle I get is constant but it sounds like its coming from my air filter. Gets louder when I accelerate. It's been doing it since I aput the open filter on and before didn't bother me. Now I'm old and the whistle annoys me. Does anyone have this whistle too? How can I alleviate it
My setup is stock motor, stock turbo with RiffRaff's wheel, exhaust is 4" with an open K&N air filter pod. The tune I have is the Bully Dog tuner with stock, tow, performance and extreme settings. I run the tow setting mostly.

I'm surprised you're getting over 24lbs of boost. My truck would defuel when it hit 24lbs, and would drop to 12lbs of boost. A boost fooler solved that.
To eliminate the whistle, either get an S&B filter setup, or, get an A.I.S. The AIS is the best for a quiet intake, and will flow enough air with factory turbo and sticks.

I changed that setting with my tuner, where did you buy the boost fooler?

Thanks, I'll look into those

Do you have a boost gauge hooked in the intake? Or are you using the MAP sensor through the computer?
