funny you should post this... i just noticed mine the other day. went to tuck in back in and the adhesive was very well stuck to the dash. Fingerprints all over the window and 5 minutes later i had it back where it belongs.
i have another small quirk now that you mention it. the headliner just above the rear view mirror has what looks to be a rounded notch for wiring to pass through and the headliner cover material is starting to come unglued slightly and bugs the crap out of me... hope you dont' notice the same thing now!
I was looking at that notch the other day wondering what it was for. Now I'm thinking of adding a overhead console if that's possible in my 2010 stx scab.
mine was sticking up a little when i picked the truck up new...
then a 108 degree day in virginia made it come out quite a bit...
started to mess with it and made a mess, stuck to itself and the dash...
trimmed that piece off
That happened on my MKX. At first I wasn't sure it was moving up- thought I just hadn't noticed it. After a few months it was obviously sticking. Tried pushing it down- too sticky.
Took it to the dealer when the whole strip was sticking up. Service manager said they had to remove the windshield, which would probably break. I asked them to research some alternate solution. They ended up pushing it back down. Made kind of mess that was mostly cleaned up. First time I turned the fan on high I got a face full debris.
A few months later pieces of the gasket started surfacing!!! When they pushed it back down they broke it into pieces- lots & lots of little pieces.
At that point they ended up pulling the windshield- which of course broke. The replacement gasket has not reappeared- it's been 15k miles. Replacement of the windshield caused a little collateral damage- somewhat disappointing but not as bad as I expected seeing all the interior pieces that had to be touched/removed in the process. The replacement windshield has a number of flaws that don't impact vision but are noticeable.
Another thing the service manager mentioned was that on the focus/fusions they would often just yank the strip out and not replace it. In hindsight I would have chosen that option and seen if there was any difference in the interior quietness or any increase in window fogging( the dealer couldn't (or wouldn't) say for sure what the function of the strip was- they supposed it was for vibration or sound damping. I experienced an increase in fogging in that area-possibly the result of the windshield getting sticky stuff on it that was extremely hard to clean.
Hope this helps.

Anyone else notice the foam between the dash and windshield acting like it iis a live and moving up. Only on the corner of the driver side?
Was at dealer yesterday for oil change and they said Ford will fix it but have to take out windsheild or can just pull it all out, says serves no purpose, had them just cut off exposed part for now.
I was wondering about that foam strip too. Now I have to go look at the passenger side to see if the foam strip is loose there also. I ordered the truck and took delivery in Janurary. It sits in the driveway facing south. Steady sun on the front end all day, every day. Only 4400 miles so far. This time of year, the motorcycle sees more road time than the P/U.
interesting....mine popped up as well on the drivers side...was in for an oil change yesterday and they said deal with it next time I need any warranty work done.I pushed it back myself but it slipped upside down and was sticky as other's mentioned.
