I'm back!
The trip went fantastic!
We all had our emotional ups and downs together like anybody has.The old 6.9 has done another fantastic job for the 10th year with us, and our biggest trip ever!
We did exactlly 16,889km (10,555 miles).
Mileage leaving driveway Friday June 25th: 219,072km
Mileage backing up into driveway Saturday August 21st: 235,961km
3 oil changes, 1 done at a closed Sam's Club, and 2 done in Wal-Mart parking lots. Also Changed the fuel filter and air filter in Amarillo Texas heading back East.
The 6.9 burned a total of 8 quarts of oil during this trip. 2 per oil change interval.
The longest we driven non stop is 5 hours. We can't do more no matter what, need to fuel up after 5 hours of highway driving, don't know how big the tank is, around ~30 gallons for sure, it's good for ~500km (315 miles) depending where we are ofcourse (elevation, road conditions, wind, etc.)
I haven't calculated MPG all across the USA yet. I did calculated it in a few different places when I had the chance.
I don't think I'll see anything over what i've gotten all along the coast of California, making 13.6MPG! Not bad for a non-turbo 3 speed diesel eh?
I kept a log along with every single receipt for fuel. Fueled up 54 times.
I will need that log to calculate MPG and know my location during those MPG's.
I'll get to that when I get the time, it won't be right now, gonna take a while before I get to that.
Also bought a map specially for highlighting all the roads we did. I will try and find a good road map on google and highlight the roads to show y'all where we been.
Now before this post gets any longer I'll stop here, pictures, interesting road conditions I been through, MPG's, etc. will all be in other seperated threads.
Hope no one missed me to much while I was gone? LOL
It is great to be back!

Hey hey now, this 6.9 sure moves..... quite slowlly LOL
Steepest hill in the Rockies in YellowStone National Park in Wyoming, climbing at 25-30MPH in 1st gear screamin' right on the governor, man what sight and sound that was

It's killer though, moving 25mph in a 50mph zone..... well for the ones stuck behind me anyways LOL
That was on the very first hill intering the rockies, can't remember witch road was it right now, I'll know when I take a look at my map, anyway for that first part, that's where the hills were the steepest, and with no passing lane, cause the road is way to narrow and to zig zaggy.
We climped for well over 30 min non stop! Slowlly but surelly..... lol
Engine never got over 210*F (180* T-stat) fan stayed locked in for a LONG time lol.
The one part I will NEVER forget about those hills, while going up at that speed, IDI screamin' it's heads off, at a vista point on my right, there was a bunch of cars and 2 campers stoped to get a nice view, and as I was approching, everyone standing outside all turned around thinking what the hell is that noise? All they see is an old camper slowlly climbing LOL you should of seen the look on the're faces as we went by, I waved with a big smile and some of 'em waved back laughing like crazy!
Good times good times.....
I sure kept an eye open for any IDI's I'd see.
I sure did see alot, but didn't reconize any of 'em. Sure did see some very nice ones to!
