I love the sound, but not the volume. I've got a couple turbo mufflers i'm going to try to cram on there (free solutions first... )

I've got to finish the other bed side and paint the stacks. They're kinda a pain to get into place so i'm not really looking forward to it.

Funny thing is, when i had a single 5" stack it sounded great. Now with twin 3" stacks it's painfully loud at and above 2200rpm.

Well, your setup is a little different from mine, but I think that splitting the pipe makes it sound quite a bit different. For example on my truck I was running 4" pipe back to the one muffler I have under the truck now, and out the side in front of the rear wheel. It sounded great and was not overly loud unless I was really standing on it.

But, taking that same muffler and running it up through stacks, it was REALLY loud, and resonated so bad it would give me a headache. I've tried everything I can think of but I cannot replicate that sound with stacks. I have wondered if a single stack would do it but I don't really have anything set up for a single. *shrugs*

well you may have the flow of a single 6 but the smaller the pipe you use, the higher the pitch. i would suggest at LEAST a 5 inch system. my old ford with a single 5 was loud but wasnt that loud and it didnt drone. and i had dual 2.25's with 30 inch glasspacks. and it was so loud i could feel the pop of the glasspacks in my chest when going up a hill trying to make 55mph at the top.

I welded a turbo muffler to each tail pipe and ran flexible exhaust tubing from there to the inlet on the stacks. Each stack only gets one bank of cylinders. Left stack is the left 4, right stack is the right 4...

Hey Joe, I've got 37's too... I'm gaining on ya...

I had one, but i didn't want the 6" hole in my new bed. My bed has 8' x 6'3" usable space. I want to keep it that way.

It sounded great with a single 5" stack and no mufflers. If you've go thte pipe, do it!
