I started having an intermittant odometer/trip display. After doing a search on this website I was directed to a thread that gave the fix. It turns out that Ford has a problem with bad solder joints for this problem. I followed the instructions on removal of instrument cluster and resoldered the pins. I reassembled and the fix worked. My truck only has 28000 miles on it but is out of warranty. I suspect I saved a bunch of money doing it myself and not involving a dealer. Soldering electronic components is in my line of work so that wasn't a problem. I just want to say Thank You for this forum and all it's members. I will try and tackle another problem Ford has with this truck.. spongy brake pedal.. I see the fix for this is also talked about a lot here too.
