Saturday I uninstalled the banks six gun that was on my truck when I bought it the truck three weeks ago. When I started my truck after taking the six gun off the check gauge light came on and the temp gauge for the transmission is now pegged saying my transmission is hot. The truck is a 2003 F-250 SCrew 4x4 lariat.
I'd start with checking all the pins and connectors you disturbed when you removed the Banks for bent, broken, or corrosion first. After that you might want to look on the harnesses for chaffing/bare wires, etc. Do you have anyway to read codes besides the Banks? The information for chafed wire locations should be in the tech folder at the start of the 6.0 forum
I have a Code reader other then the banks but no codes are showing up. I will recheck the pins and wiring harness. Would installing an aftermarket trans temp gauge and sending unit possible solve this problem?
Pulled the battery back out to get to the PCM and unplugged and reconnected all the PCM connectors everything appears to be working correctly again so hopefully it stays that way so I can take it to the Diesel show in Terra Haute this coming weekend. Thanks for all the suggestions on what to look for guys. And on another note after removal of the banks my truck is back to starting like it should instead of cranking forever before starting.
