Received it by UPS 2 Days ago, mounted it yesterday,,finally got the pics figured out on how to post them on FTE !
Mounted it through the ESOF dash panel,,,removes easy,,Replaceable,,no holes in the Dash,,,Plus a passenger can unhook it from the Velcro,,and pull it over to them closer,,so they can go through the Menu,,and get what ever Gauges we want,,,,so far I have only seen the EOT 8 degrees hotter the the ECT,,seems to hover 3-5 degrees hotter,,This Insight is SWEET !!
As a previous post about the Edge Insight,,,was on sale at Amazon.com,,,$246 for the unit,,Plus I also purchased the turbo thermo-couple(not installed yet) for $80.
The Edge unit just plugs right into the OBD II port ,,below the dash,,about where the drivers right knee is,,,the Insight has so many parameters,,,like 2 gauge setup,,3, 4, 5, 6, 7, gauge setups,,,my son found and setup the EOT(engine oil temp) in the "Ford section",,that and the ECT (engine coolant temp) is the main reason I purchased it,,but tranny temp, and EGT's will be great to keep an eye on also,,,,Easiest gauge install ever!!
He stated "no holes in the dash", but I dont know how??
yep i read that too. maybe he means in the big part of the dash that spot where he mounted his is where my 4 wheel drive switch is at. maybe that is a seperate panel
Thats it guys,,,,That little panel pops out,,a small straight blade screw driver can slide right under it,,,I did have to drill a hole in that small removable ESOF switch panel,,,,But it is replaceable,,,a small aluminum angle comes with the Edge Insight,,double stick Tape, and the 2 pcs of velcro to mount it too the Aluminum angle.
One Note,,,it may not fit there if you have the ESOF 4x4 setup,,,I have the Manual T-case and shifter,,so my Dash plate was Empty!
You can always buy the $40 dollar mount for the Edge,,that mounts under your A-pillar on the Dash,,,,But as someone else mentioned,,,Is easy to see,,and Scum-Bag thieves are every where,,!!
