wire help
I have a 1994 F350 with the 460. It is a great truck. I have been fixing up for a month or two now, but I ran into a problem I can't figure out. When I go over 35 and come to a stop, I have to manually put the automatic trans into 1st or it will stall out. But if I unplug my tail lights, everything works great. I believe I have a short somewhere. Any ideas?

You definitely have a shorted circuit. I'd say your brake light wire (which is probably included in the same wire bundle that feeds the transmission) has probably been overloaded at some point and has melted and shorted against several other wires in the bundle. This type of problem is very difficult to troubleshoot. You're going to have to start from scratch and examine every inch of your harness...you'll have to strip tape and conduit off, etc, etc. Its going to be a pain in the ***. I don't have any easy answers for ya. lol, good luck.

If I stay under 35, everything works fine. I also noticed after crawling underneath that I have 7 wires coming from the box wire harness and only 5 wires on the tail light harness. The 2 extra wires are white and one is hot and the other isn't. Could those be a direct connect?
