missing
Hi guys I hang out mostly in the 7.3 forum, my son's friend has a 6.0, it is missing at an idle and in some of the throttle positions it misses. It runs ok part of the time. Dealer said #4 injector is bad. I have an ae and will scan tomorrow. Any ideas where to concentrate? I am a little leery of the dealer's prognosis. I might add there is no smoke and no other obvious symptoms.

What oil is he using (and what brand of filter)?
An injector issue could be stiction - that sometimes can be "remedied" by the proper oil and a flash update to the processors. Some folks say Rev-X has helped also.
It is always worth verifying that the batteries are healthy and the FICM voltage is good (but if it is only one injector code, these components are probably not the issue).
Knowing the code(s) would be a help.
