Has anyone installed?

Has anyone installed a Tuff Country 2" level kit sku: 22905. They are thick solid piece of aluminum with no wholes or screw shafts taped into mount. My question is how does this mount stay in place with no hardware. It looks as though it goes between top mount and spring. If thats the case then it will compress the spring. The newer style has threaded shafts and mounts on top of strut mount plate and under truck frame.

Nobdody has installed the leveling kit that looks just like a spacer. Nothing more. No way to secure it with screws or bolts. And how does a spacer an inch thick raise a truck 2inches?

According to what I saw about this model is it is meant to just slide over the top of the strut and that is how it secures in place.

Over top the strut, under the frame/ firewall? Or between the spring and top mount? I got it for free. He paid $150 over a year and a half ago. All mounts sold now are secured with bolts and on top of strut. This mount looks as though it could fall out.

Sounds like it goes under the strut guard which is why it doesn't have any bolts on it. A bit more labor intensive then the way they bolt on top now.

I think this is one of those that involves removing the upper strut mount and putting the spacer between the upper mount and spring (where the isolator is). If it does, I don't suggest it. I tried installing a similar kit on mine and taking apart the strut assembly and getting that top plate off is a pain. It started to bend all to hell. You also need a GOOD spring compressor (not the cheap ones you rent at Autozone). Sell them and get one that mounts to the top of the strut mount using the existing bolts like the Auto Springs. You don't have to remove the entire strut assembly, just the top three bolts.

My guess is perhaps your generous friend attempted the install, ran into the same problems I had, couldn't sell it on ebay because everyone knows what a pain it is, and decided to clear some shelf space in his garage by casting this pain-in-the-**** install on to you.
