I have a '05 F150 Screw FX4, recently installed a autospring 1.5 lift. The front sets about 1/4 in. higher than the rear measuring from the ground to the top of the fenders. The stock wheels are 18X7.5, will the Nitto Terra Grappler 325/60/18 tire mount on the stock rims correctly? Concerned about the tire bulging across the tread due to the width of the tire mounted on the 7.5 stock wheeel. If so, will they rub if mounted on the truck?
Has anyone tried this setup? Thanks for any info.
I Don't Know About The Fit Man, But A Good Buddy Of Mine Saw Nitto Tire Get Ruined With One Little Pebble In The Side Wall, And Nitto Would Not Do Anything About It Either!
The 325 60 18 will fit on your FX4 rims, but it is not ideal. The tires will bulge and they could wear uneven. It would be best to get a wider rim if you want to run that large of a tire.
Another alternative would be to get a 285 65 18 tire and that would fit fine on your FX4 rims. The difference in size between the 285 and 325 are not that much.
Thanks for the info. I figured they where a little big for this setup however, I was going to get a good deal on them. But, I might as well buy the size that fits the best.
Are the Bfg's At Ko's a better tire?
NDNMOJOMAN,
I had the same problem as you I wanted the bigger Nitto's but I still have my stock rims. I didn't have the money for new rims and tires and I really needed tires. Anyway I went with the 285/65R18's so I would get decent wear out of them and I am happy I did. They ride great and I think the truck looks pretty good. If you go this route make sure you get the 65 series tire and not the 60 series because the 60 series is almost a 1" shorter.
I plan on getting new rims in about 5 to 6 months and then when these Nitto's wear out I will go bigger. I really like the BFG's but they are just so much more expensive I couldn't pull the trigger.

The BFG AT KO's are in my opinion the best overall 4x4 tire on the market. The 285's will fit the stock wheels perfectly and you will get plenty of miles out of them. Good luck.
I had a set of Nitto TG's on my last truck. Some people praise them, I had trouble with the wearing unevenly/cupping (normal rotation and alignments where done). The tread also wore down very quickly, and they were on my 1/2 ton, so weight was not a factor. I switched to BFG AT's. I have had great luck with these tires. They handle great, and look nice. BFG would get my vote between the two.

You could also just buy new wider rims.
I am going with 18" KMC monsters which will have an 8.5 or 9" rim so that is not my issue. I want to go with 325/60/18 nitto terra grapplers but I am worried about rubbing on the inside. I have the roush package so I am stock with +35mm offset, so I was going to go with that in the new rims, but I also have the option of going with +18mm offset so rubbing wont be an issue, but then I will worry about the tires sticking out too far. I don't want to go more than an inch past my fender wells. Any idea if I will rub with a +35mm offset?
I would actually recommend going with the 285/65/18 over the 325's and that is because the 325's are Load range D while the 285's are load range E which is a better suit for our trucks. The difference in size is less the 1/2" and the 285's would last a lot longer for you. The actually sizes are 32.99" for the 325's and 32.52" for the 285's.
These are the tires I have on my truck right now and they are great. The only thing I wished I had done is installed the 295's instead to get a bit larger tire and these are on the stock Fx4 rim.
I wish I would of went to the 285's instead of the 265's. I was asking the same question about the tire bulge today. The guy told me he would recommend a wider rim. I am going to eventually add a 6" suspension lift and add 35's to my truck. When I do that I am going to have to figure out what tires to go with.
Have you guys looked at Firestone Destination A/T. I have a set on my 05 4X4 and they are excellent. They are rated #1 on the Tire Rack owner survey in their category. I also have a set of Destination L/Es on my 96 Chevy 1500. The new Firestones are definitely worth a look.
