They definitely don't like the weight of the PSD!! Ever hada cummins on an engine stand similar to that one??? they fall over frontwards. LOL I know cuz it happened to me and my brother so last time i had to put one on a stand, it was a better stand
Ohhh man, I would flip my top of an engine went face down! LOL! I will keep that in mind if I ever get the notion to be special and throw a cummins on one! LOL!
The entire time this engine sat on the stand, I was really leary at first, but became comfortable as I went along, however visitors werent too thrilled to see a stand squeak like that! LOL!
They need to put warning labels on these stands: "Warning, if you attempt to place a PSD or Cummins engine on this model stand, rethink the fun you are about to incurr"!

LOL, that's for sure!! It helps a lot if you can get the engine on the stand without using those arms that they have for mounting. You can do that on a cummins
thanks Guys for the info. Sounds like fun with the stand. Hey Just another Question I'm looking for a rebuilt long motor for my powerstroke any ideas who to go to. Need to ship it to Australia so no core not worth shipping cost
Do the rebuild yourself. If your just doing a stock rebuild then get the IH rebuild kit. It's around $1k, but well worth the $$$ comes with pistons and everything. Get your connecting rods reworked, get the machine shop to check the alignment of the mains(line hone if neccessary), if you have to line hone it then make sure the machine shop tells you what size bearings you need for it, check all clearances on reassembly with plastigauge. You probably want to do all the machine work neccessary before ordering the rebuild kit so you can get the right stuff(oversize bearings, pistons, etc.). Have the machine shop also check the cylinders for being "eggshaped" and bore as neccessary. You might be able to get away with only boring it .010 or if you want to keep stock sized pistons you can sleeve it from the get go.
