Well I got my new Edge CS today all excited. Went to the truck hooked it up and now im pissed and had to call Edge . I had called Edge before I bought it and asked them specifically if it shows EOT and ECT and was told yes. Apparently its truck brand specific and well FORD doesnt show EOT. Now dont get me wrong Edge people we very helpfully, nice and willing to do whatever I wanted meaning take it back free and so on. No problem with the people there. But they tell me there will be an update for the EOT soon anywhere from 2weeks to months and months. So now I hold it and wait for update to come out. The piece is nice but I have been waiting for it because I think I have a bad oil cooler and wanted the gauge to tell me right way and now I cant. Spent 3 bills on it and it is cool but now I have to wait for an upadate. Was also told the CST gets info from same place so getting that one wont be any different so if you were concidering it you might want to wait. Just wanted everyone to know.

I'm not familiar with the Edge but EOT is an available OBD II parameter for Ford (at least on my 2006). I do know that the entire OBD II parameter list is not available on every model or every model year but I'm pretty sure that EOT should be available. Whether or not the Edge can display the information is another question. Ask about Ford specific PID # 1310, this should be EOT in degrees.
That seems strange as I have the insight CST and it shows EOT. I would think they would be the same as they arent that much different other then screen size and some graphics goodies.
I have a 06 and the thing reads everything, except fuel pressure and EGT. I have seen on other forums that people are having trouble with some of their units working. An Edge rep on the one page explained it this way.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> The edge unit has to read the VIN# to know how to read all the parameters (I know when I hooked mine up it flashed reading VIN, then it was ready to go)
<o></o> He said that they are having problems in two situations.
<o></o> 1. Some chips delete the VIN# from the computer. So, since there is no VIN# to read the unit can't set itself up properly.
<o></o> 2. The unit can't read the VIN# on some of the older trucks for some reason, although if I remember correctly I think that it was older than 04 trucks.
<o></o> They are developing a screen for the unit where you can manually enter your VIN#. I don't think he ever said when it would be ready, but it sounded like it would be sooner vs later.
<o></o> The above information all comes from what the rep said, because I am no expert. They are also developing a probe to detect the fuel pressure, like the EGT probe they have.
Jetact, I am curious now that you say your CST shows it.... Mine is an 04. hmmm the rep told me when I called that the CST and CS is basically the same unit and reads from the same place its just bigger. I even asked like hey if i upgrade can I have it and he said it wouldnt be there. When I plugged it in it did say reading VIN. I dont know if it actually read it but it did say reading... I wonder if I put it back to stock so if it would be able to since im running an SCT. Thanks for the input

I have the EOT and ECT on my two big readings. Have worked well for me. I got the starter kit also that has the AGT probe on it and room for more attachements down the road. I also have showing my trans temp and battery voltage. I have a SCT X3 and it seems to work fine with the street tune I tried. I dont have my truck as it is at my shop having a LONG list of engine parts changed and upgraded. They should have the motor out this afternoon so I wouldnt be able to go look at what is on the CST as there isnt anything hooked up right now.
EOT and ECT are displaying just fine for me as well on my 2007 F350. I'd say it has to be a model year issue and would keep hounding them for the update. That's a basic item to monitor in my opinion
I just got the Edge CST about two weeks ago. The 03/04's are having some problems because their vin #'s may not be in the PCM or they may be degraded. This came up on another ford site. I have an 04 with an 03 motor. When i first hooked mine up it would not do much. I called Rob Story (sp) at Edge, an engineer there, and he sent me a program via my fusion account that allowed me to input my VIN #. I did that, it was not hard, and now I get ect, eot, boost, volts, and more as it is supposed work. I just don't get the trans gear/torque converter lock up as i guess it is not supported by my PCM.
They are working on this fix for release soon but I needed it now so he sent me the patch.
I just called the Edge number 1-888-360-3343. His extension is #132.
Hope this helps.
