Hello guys and gals! I was wondering if any of you know what color is paint code VR on a 79 f 150. My truck is being painted but I believe the wrong color was applied to the truck. Thanks in advance.
This one is kind of weird. VR= (V) medium chestnut metallic (R) Light Jade
To me, that's an unusual combination.
I checked the code in the Ford parts manual and this is what it crossed over to. As a double check I looked it up in the PPG color chart and it says the same thing.
All I can say is brown and green...unusual.
Yeah, thats odd because my trucks original colors are blue and light blue. I believe my body man used a darker color blue on my truck and needed to clarify that. He used a midnight blue for the top color and light blue for the middle. The interior of my truck I believe is the Bright Dark Blue metallic which makes me believe is the outside color as well. I want to go original but not sure if he used the original color blue. Thanks
By the way ,my truck is a 79 f 150 if that helps. There is a photo of the colors he used in my gallery. I was told by a friend that ford did use a dark blue metallic in 79 but not in 78. My truck was built in october 78 so I believe the original colors should be Bright Dark Blue metallic and light blue. I do not recall ever seeing a Dark Blue Metallic/light blue combo. Thanks
For Bright dark blue metallic over light blue the color code should have been SK for single stage enamel, or Z4 for clearcoat (I didn't even know they had two stage paint back then...learned something new today).
