COLOR code M = 1964/66 Wimbledon White

Whimbledon White color is the correct color used on wheels, grilles and bumpers of standard (non-Custom Cab) 1966 F100/F250 trucks when built new. Whimbedon white is an off white, not a bright or gloss white. Now I don't know if NAPA will be able to cross-reference to a 1966 Ford Whimbledon White or not.

Let us know what your local NAPA dealer can do for ya.......

I believe Wimbledon White was a body color and that Colonial White was used on painted wheels, bumpers and grilles from 1964-1969.

Painted bumpers were standard equipment for Standard & Custom Cabs. Chrome bumpers were optional for Custom Cabs only.
Wimbledon White is basic Ford part number 1619, was used from 1964 into the 1970's on all FoMoCo vehicles, but not on truck grilles or bumpers. I don't recall which shade of white was used for truck wheels.

It might have been Wimbledon White, Pure White (COLOR code C) or Colonial White (COLOR code E). AFAIK, grilles and bumpers were painted Colonial White.

Wimbledon White: AE60-1619-B ... Touch Up Paint-3 ounce can w/brush / AE60-1619-S .. Touch Up Paint-6 ounce spray bomb.

Wimbledon White was used on bumpers, grilles and wheels on '66 4x4's with any exterior color. The exception to the rule is if truck was Pure White, then trim items would be painted Pure White or truck was painted to special order fleet specs.

1966 Ford F-250 Custom Cab Camper Special

I'm in a similar situation. I've got a 1966 Ford F-250 Camper Special Custom Cab. I'm looking to replace the old split rims with some new solid rims and I want them to be the factory white color. What code should I go with? Wimbledon White, Pure White or Colonial White

The rear bumper, western mirrors and wheels are all white - along with the FORD lettering stamped on the back tailgate. Any advice would be appreciated.

Triple Frame - I just saw your post regarding wimbleton white for 4x4's. Does this apply to 2WD too?

Just saw this and I recalled I had two pictures of two different 65s as they were so to speak. No restoration of them. Approached both for a closer look and noted the white bumper and white rims were not Wimbledon white but whiter. Though clearly the one with the chrome bumper has had it's painted one changed out along with 65 rims for 66.

Years ago I had a Wimbledon white "base" truck. I did not notice that the grill, headlight doors, bumper, wheels, and hubcaps were a different colour than the body.

Here's an original brochure dated January 1966 with an actual color photo and someone behind the wheel. The wheels look to be the same color as the hood.

I think Wimbledon White can look different in different lighting. Here's a pic of that original paint tailgate I found. Outside in natural sunlight it looks quite bright, too.

And they didn't paint all the wheels white. I remember trucks having the black rims with silver outer locking ring like DanK did on his truck. Here's another brochure dated August, 1965 showing that look. F250 Camper Special and it has the stainless caps.

Ford was big on doctoring photos in this era. That same truck has white wheels on the second edition '66 brochure. The camper truck was a originally a '65, they changed the grill to a '66.

Whimbledon White is the correct color for your rims. By the way, the western mirrors were painted gray from the factory.

Yes, I saw that - and in the 3rd edition it was back to black again. I've got some original paint locking ring wheels from a 1966 that are black as well.

Not trying to hijack the thread but what's with the extra dorky set of turn signals on the fender corners in the brochure pics
