I'm trying to figure out what my next step in reducing EGTs should be. My temps are a little too high for daily driving I feel like. All of my mods are in my signature, but Im trying to figure out what to do next without a $1000+ turbo or IC upgrade. Are there any cheaper alternatives?
Im not 100% sure, but I believe you have to change out either the inlet or outlet boot. I/C tubes will be the same.
Hopefully someone who has done this will chime in.
IC is a direct bolt in, Wow ever you will need to change out your IC Boots Clay has them. You could also do a upgrade from a 0.84 to a 1.0 turbo exhauxt housing and maybe a EBPV Delete.
i would start by pulling the ic and inspecting it to make sure you dont have any debree in there. wash it out real good and see if it helps. your right foot may be bigger and heavier than mine but in 80e i usually do not go over 900.
What do you consider a little too high? I have the 6637, AIH delete, 4" turbo back with muffler, and bellowed up pipes and will average 600 to 650 running down the highway in 80e. If I really get on it, the EGTs will get up to 900 to 950. I have not done any towing since I did the mods, but I would not expect them to get unreasonable. How is your boost doing?
I don't believe its a boost leak, I can hit 25-26psi pretty easy. I think I'm gonna try the genedad2 mod. I'm just talking about the short bursts and passing. Probably more worrying than I should be doing.
