Hey, i have a 2003 f250 supercab 4x4 v10 3 inch revtek lift with 315s, just wondering if anyone can recommend what a good power adder besides turbos an superchargers would be, or what have you done to your v10, by the way, sorry if this has been asked a handfull already but im new an do not really know were to look for spacifics like this so bare with me, thanks
I've had two, just sold my 02 which is the same as yours. I went with K&N filter(not the whole kit) and a flowmaster 70 series. If you want louder then I would look at the new cherry bomb. I also drilled out the fiberglass right in front of the intake snout. I also installed a set of headers (JBA from Cal), but Thorley and someone else now make them better and they have the replacement y-pipe, I suggest doing both.
I went with a Superchip Programmable Tuner as it had three modes (economy, towing, performance) and you could raise the speed limiter and also change shift points & pressures. This was very important to me especially since I switched campers in the 8 years I had it.
It did very, very well. Now if you haven't done it yet because of your tires plan on upgrading your brakes soon. :-)

First Welcome to FTE
We can help you out on all your V10 tuning needs. See our website for more details.
Go with 5 Star for the tuning. I have his tunes and they are the best around, plus the service can't be beat. Off the shelf tuners with canned tunes are a waste, been there done that. Might as well forget the cams, what cams are avalable are custom made to order and very expensive. As far as headers you would definatley want long tubes. I have Doug Thorley Tri-Y long tubes on my 04' and the difference is very noticable. With the proper gears, tuning and a good set of headers your truck will feel like a different truck.
i have a set on my 05 with the 5.4 i know its not a V10 but the shorties were a waste. i installed them myself and i felt no difference. as far as i can tell long tubes are really worth it. im looking for a set for my 5.4 but im not haveing much luck
Go to the v10 forum and do some browsing.... Many of us have tried quite a few things. Some are big improvement for the dollar (gears, tuner, y-pipe, modify stock air box, good tune up), some have proven to be minimal improvement for the dollar (replacement "CAI" air box and gauze filters, headers, muffler, exhaust tubing) and some are worthless (TB spacers, gimmick spark plugs, e-bay "tuners", etc)
What about a set of Gibson headers. Short headers not long like the Doug Thorley Tri-Y long. Anyone try Gibsons out by chance?
They are better than the stock manifolds but you still retain the junk stock Y-pipe. If your going to spend the money on headers go with a set of long tubes that replace the stock y-pipe as well as the manifolds. The Thorleys, Banks and Hedmans do just that.

On that bit of information could you enlighten me a bit. Should I go that route will I then need to replace the stock exhaust right away as well? Reason I ask is if I do then that means I need to save and plan a bit more.
The 3 headers I listed above are designed to bolt up to the flange before the cat on 00'-04 SDs. You can run any exhaust system you like with them and that includes the stock system.
Thanks for all the valuble input boys, i have a built y pipe, no cat, magnaflow muffler an k&n intake, im interested in those longtubes what is a set going to run for a v10 i know not cheap, im also very interested in a chip, my 08 vortec max completly unlocked all the hidden power when i chipped it, are we hidding oodles of power in our fords computer to or is it kinda best for shift points an stuff
I've been looking at the Doug Thorley Tri-Y long and they run between 6 and nearly 8 hundred.
Kind of wondering also if they rot out quickly or not. One thing I did like about the Gibson's, they were stainless steel. Living in Ohio with the nasty winters and salt they'd hold up real nice.
