Tried to do some research but could not find much. A friend of mine is looking at an 08 mark lt. I thought these were dressed up f150 s but sales guy says they have a lot of f250 components. Does not make sense to me, but I'm not sure. Also not sure why they had the 6 speed in the navigator but not in the mark lt. It seems like a really nice vehicle and from reading some of the reviews-people who have them, love them. Problem is he could almost get a 2010 lariat 4x4 for just a few grand more (I think, probably definite when the new order book is opened with the new motors.) Your thoughts appreciated, Mike.
I am not sure about the f250 stuff being apart of the Mark lt that doesn't quite make sense to me but I guess it could be correct.
In my opinion though the Mark lt isn't worth the cost. He would be better off finding a god F-150 for the same or like you say go buy the 2010 Lariat. What I have always understood is Lincoln's are Fords with nicer interiors and some other upgrades to the suspension and engine areas to make for smoother rides.
The Mark LT is basically a F150 Lariat with a little more plush interior, a little softer ride and some extra trim. Personally I would (and did) go with the Lariat for the money
Folks who own them are certainly going to offer praise about how nice they are. Take a great truck, the F150, and all all the fancy stuff Lincoln offers. And you've got a capable and very nice truck.
But that sales guy is a dam idiot. I hope you or your friend called him on his bluff when he said it had a lot of F250 parts. I'm betting he meant to say F150 parts, because that's what the truck is plus the fancy over priced stuff that Lincoln added.
