I have a 2006 6.0 F-350 Dually CC with Edge Juice Plat. with 58000 miles. When you start it in the morning and start to drive it the trucks acts like it doesn't want to shift and it studders. The further you press down the worst it gets. If you let off the pedal sometimes it will shift. Once the trans. temp reaches a temp above 100 deg. everthing is fine. It will shift fine the rest of the day until it cools off again. This just started happen. When I first got the truck it shift fine no matter how long it warmed up except in the winter when it was extremely cold.. After the edge was added the truck was fine. It has been on the truck for over a year no problems. I took it to the dealership and they reflashed the trans. It helped some but the problem didn't go completely away. I just took it in again this time they got a code on the injectors and changed the ficm out. They test drove it and said everything was fine. Drove it after it set overnight still has the same problem. Any ideas or anyone else had the same problem? It's going back in next week.
I don`t know a whole bunch about this stuff, but I think a malfunctioning fuel system will make the trans not shift right. I think it`s messing with the computers mind, and it doesn`t command the trans to shift like it should. Mine is pumping out white smoke on occasion, the ficm didn`t test right, and I`m waiting to fix it, and my trans won`t shift when it`s cold and missing.

When was the last time tranny filters were changed/serviced? If you decide it is time to service your trans and drop the pan yourself, you can check and see the condition of the fluids and see if there are any shavings. 58,000 is not a lot of miles for these trannies so I don't expect you will find much.
It sounds like engine related. Please make sure and let us know how the issue gets resolved. Thanks.
This is a great question, mine is doing the exact same thing. Like yours its a new symptom. Didn't do it 2 months ago. I'd like to know whatever you find out. I'm wondering myself if it's fuel related. Please keep me posted with anything you find out.
