I bought a nice set of ceramic coated Thorley Tri-Y headers two years ago. I am very happy with these so far and have experienced no leaks.
However, a few small rust spots are beginning to form. Is there a way to remove this, like is there some sort of polish or something for ceramic headers?
The rust will continue to expand and get worse. Every single ceramic coated header I have rusts. I have Thorleys on my truck now and within 6 months I was under the truck brushing the rust spots and spraying on header paint.
Brush off as much rust as possible and spray on some header paint. You can take the spot down to bare metal to remove all rust and then paint it.
The ceramic coating that comes on the headers is a basically a ceramic fortified paint that is put on, baked and put into a vibratory media of some sort to polish it up.
I have been using the VHT 2000 deg Ceramic header paint in the Aluminum color. I tried Duplicolor before and it looked nicer but didn't hold up as long as the VHT does. Duplicolor bought VHT so I don't know if Duplicolor even makes header paint under the Duplicolor name anymore. Most of the major anuto parts stores have it.
