Ceramic coating?

I see on RiffRaff Diesel for an extra few $200 roughly, you can get things ceramic coated, like bellowed up pipes, turbo housing and ect...

What good is ceramic coating doing? Do they sell it in a kit for everyday people or does it take special requirements? And if you were to coat everything your truck needs coated, what would you all be coating?

Ceramic coating helps hold heat in their respective components. This helps keep it where it belongs and not release it into the engine compartment. The coating is baked on to allow it to bond into the metal surfaces. This aids in better exhaust flow and spooling of the turbo. For budget minded people, you can purchase an aerosol canned ceramic paint that is applied and baked on in an oven or a stepped process of bringing it up to temp by running. It does a fairly good job for the cost. I have done the latter on a turbine housing with good results.
