Hello Everyone,
I am new to this forum but have been reading for a few months. I have a 2004 F250 w/ 6.0 PSD. The truck came equipped from the factory with remote keyless entry and remote start which up until a few weeks ago worked fine (except for the horrible range) now when i try to unlock the truck using the fob nothing happens, I located the Ford/Codesystems box under the dash and noticed that when i press the lock or unlock button on the fob I can hear something click in the box but nothing happens. The power door locks work fine from inside the truck and on the drivers door keypad and the truck starts and runs everytime. Is there any way I can test the keyless module? Is there any way to fix without visiting the dealer? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
try replacing the fob battery, if you want to test your vsm, get in the vehicle and press lock unlock, then cycle ignition 8 times and the locks should pop. Thats the vsm going into learning mode, and also how you program a new keyfob
If you turned your ingition on and off 8 times and got it into programming mode, and you did nothing with your key fobs, you may have deactivated your fobs. When you do that, you have to reprogram all of the key fobs for that vehicle within the 30 seconds or whatever the time limit is. It's all in your owners manual on how to do it. Is it just the door locks that won't work, or all of the functions on the key fob? Does the remote start still work? Does your key fob have a button to set off the horn? And if it does, does it work? Good luck.
