I am checking out the LMC body kits for my restore (74 F-100) but I like the polyurathane bushing sets.
My question is: is it better to use poly or rubber; and where can I find a set/full kit?
Well, Summit & others sell them. To be honest, I don't ever recall seeing a aftermarket kit in rubber. Mine are poly and I'd never go back to rubber, particularly with a body lift.
My personal preference is the rubber OEM style body mount. I've ridden in trucks that have the poly mounts and wasn't impressed with the ride. They may be okay for off road but for cruising down the highway I'd go with the rubber, plus the poly mounts squeek.
The rubber ones fall apart over time. The poly ones probably won't. Granted, its given 30 years of service, but all the rubber ones I've removed so far have proceeded to fall into many pieces as the metal washers and sleeves and bolts are removed.

When I removed the body on my '73 last year the original mounts were actually in very good condition, good enough that I considered reusing them. I decided against reusing them only because EVERYTHING else is new or rebuilt and like I say in my build thread, I want to own a NEW 1973 F100.
I'm refering to the body mounts, the radiator support mounts were pretty much shot.

You don't say anything about what your plans are for the truck. If it is just a stock driver, I'd go with rubber. If you are doing something special where you need a stiff suspension,l go with Polyurethane.
The poly stuff will give you a much stiffer ride, and is prone to squeaking, even when you use the silicone lube that comes with them. The rubber has a much better ride quality.
I have the poly on a street/strip truck and wish I had stayed with rubber.
IMO, I'd go with polyurethane for all the entire suspension including the shock absorber bushings. The handling and alignment will stay very consistent over time. I think you can go either way with the bed, cab, and core support bushings. With polyurethane, use the supplied lube (teflon impregnated sticky stuff) generously. If it were me, I'd use the lube on the rubber bushings and metal sleeves too. My core support donuts came apart in hands and the washers and sleeves were badly corroded.
Lastly, I prefer black poly versus red to focus attention on the entire truck - not the bushings.

I am at a point in the build where I am thinking to go street hot rod, but I would like to give it to my daughter in the next 10+ years or so. That's why I am thinking poly... so it will last & I wont have to crawl back under the truck in 20-25 years from now. (at least for bushings & mounts)
Here is what I did. If you go this way make sure you double check your measurements and make the pipe only 1/8" shorter and the bushings. Anything longer and you will start to crush the bushings.. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...em-solved.html
