I have searched the list as well as the net. What a mess?
I have China LR-D tries on my trailer. I want to move up to LR-E same size. Reason extra safety range. I am not over loaded, not even close. Trailer is 12000 GVWR. Never been loaded over 8500.
Trying to find a well rated ST tire NOT made in China is tough.
I have good prices on a number of China LR-E tires.
One dealer sells Carlisle ST23585R16E but I think he means G since he tells me they are 12 ply. Price $824 all 4 mounted etc. Says they are USA. Not real sure.
Local tire shop can get Assorted China tires, DynaTrack $110 Ea HiRib?? $120, Not sure name 14ply $140.
Some good prices found on the dot com shops.
Comments are all over the place. I may be stuck with China mfgr tires.
Yes I am aware about inflation and max speed, etc.
Comments.
I did more reading. Maxxis has a good rating. I found them local for $135 mounted etc. German owned made in Thialand.
I may have to consider going with LT USA made tires. The 'pros' say not to do that. I ran LT tires for years on a big GN 3 Horse LQ with no issues. I can get Firestone HT LT for $177 ea installed.
Have to do something. I need to get rid of the no-name China tires.
ST or LT
USA-China.

I went with Maxxis back in May. I have towed about 4000 miles since and the tires roll well. I did get Load range E and I keep the pressure at 80. I dont underinflate a bit. Ole farm boy hear, always ready for the max load.
I wanted to get bigger rims and go with LT's but did not have the room.
I researched heavily and Maxxis is what all the other forums reccommend in the ST tire. I can say, I am satisfied for now.
can't help ya on tire selection, but hat's off to you for taking the effort to find American-made if possible....those few of us still left in manufacturing appreciate it!
