E4OD slipping

E4OD slipping
My trans is slipping from 1st to 2nd only. When it does shift at times it is so hard it feels like it is going to snap the u joints. It shifts fine other than this and does not do it all the time. I have changed the fluid and filter, the tps and it has had no effect. Local trans shops cannot agree what is wrong but they are all sure it will be expensive and require a rebuild. The computer is not showing any codes.This is my only transportation and I am at a loss. Currently i am starting out in second and then shifting and it works fine. Please help, any advice would be appreciated.

My '94 did that for about a year! I dropped the pan, changed fluid and filter.... Whaaam! Still did it. Out of the blue and in any gear. Change out your MPLS on the transmission. The kit comes with a new grommet that prevents any water intrusion into the module. It's not that hard to do yourself. Just remember to block your tires and leave the shifter in neutral when you replace it.

By the way, the problem finally did cause my F250 to break the rear most u-joint on my way home from work. It happened one week after I fixed the problem. Go figure. Check your drive line when you get the module replaced for cracks or excessive slack.
