I read here a long time ago that you could use the 78-79 Bronco buckets in the 73-79 F-series pickups. Well I bought a crapy set to use the brackets and finally got around this weekend to do the swap but mounted a set of 95 Z-28 buckets on top of the brackets instead of the original seats. Sanded the brackets down, painted and mounted the Camaro buckets. I remove the stock bench and put the passenger seat in first and NOTHING matches up at all.... I read that you will have to drill a couple more holes which is no big deal but the Bronco seat bracket doesn't even come close to my 79 floor contour... I had beed waiting to do this over a year. Really been let down
I used them years ago in my 81 flareside. I can not remember if I drilled 4 holes or 8. It worked great. My uncle upholstered them like the 65 mustang seats.
I'm not worried about the holes, it's the contour. As you know the passenger side Bronco bucket does not adjust forward or back all it does is lift or tilt foward for the enterance to the rear. It has feet sort of speak that sits on the floor and those don't even come close to fitting flush doesn't matter how I move it around..
Man I wish I could remember how I installed them. It was a long time ago. One of the members on here just installed some recently in their truck. They posted some pics. It may have been in the show your interiors thread.
As far as I know the floors are the same where the seats go. It was twenty years ago when I did to my truck. It was not difficult and they sat level in my 81 truck.

Was your 81 a reg. cab? Because in the thread that you attached the article you can see where the floor angles and mine does not so I would say the floor is different. Also would the floor be the same from a 79 to 81 because they changed the style in 80? I really appreciate you digging that up for me though...I had a little hop there for a second.
You know I'm still thinking about this but you could get a bench seat in a Bronco as well so I wonder if they made two different styles, one for the F-series and one for the Bronco. But to me that wouldn't make money sense to a company. So if they onle made a one style of bench seat that tells me this has to work but so far it's not......
You are thinking correctly. A seat from a 65 to a 96 will interchange. You have to use the tracks from your truck onto the replacement seat. It is all a bolt in event. I recently pulled a bench seat from a 95 and stuck a bench seat from a 79 into it without changing tracks. I put the 95 seat into my 83 without changing tracks. Everything bolted in. And no my 81 was not a supercab.
Try sending Emaraldcoupe a PM. he can say for sure how it is done.
Well after digging and digging I found that the reg. cab truck floor is different from the supercab and Bronco therefore a direct bolt-in will not work.
I remember seeing a guy on here scratchbuilt bucket brackets using the stock bench seat brackets but welding cross pieces then bolting the buckets to those. Don't remember who and even did a search and came up with zip. (I never have any luck with the search feature)
Boy does this upset me, kinda makes me want to sell the truck and get something newer. Does anyone have any pictures or ideas what I could do? For surely someone has put buckets in there regular cab pickup....

Al, are you aware that 1978/79 Bronco's were also available with a split bench front seat in addition to bucket seats and Captain's Chairs?
Guess what the split bench seat and seat tracks (D4TZ1061704A-Right/D4TZ1061705A-Left) were also used in? Did you say 1974/79 F100/350 Super Cabs?
That's correctamundo...and if the 1974/79 F100/350 Super Cab split bench and seat tracks fit the Bronco's floor pan, what's causing the problem you are having?
My guess is, you bought the wrongyear Bronco seats.
In post #1 you said you bought a "crapy set" to use the seat tracks, but how do you know...for sure...that they were from a 1978/79 Bronco?
1980/96 Bronco's are not the same as 1978/79 Bronco's. The floor pan is shaped differently...the entire body is different, the seat tracks are different.
