ok. Fisrt off you are buying an oil cooler kit. for basicly list price. that comes with a free oil filter.
egr block off kit you have linked a) is not a ford Item as ford will not sell any such item
you are about to pay 145 for a intake gasket set and a freeze plug. Not a good deal.

drain and supply tubes look about right.

first off i really value yours and bismics opinions and advise on this board , so ok the oil cooler kit as you said comes with a oil fliter and the ipr screen. for list price it was one of the cheapest on ebay. i priced this at the ford guy that is here on his site and it listed for over three hundred without the screen or the filter. as far as the block off kit yes i am probably getting ripped with the price but it is supposed to have all the intake and egr o rings and gaskets and the turbo hardware kit. i really do not want to fight over the prices different people have for these parts. i looked at a lot of sites and did a lot of price searches and this is what i came up with i only have around 18 hours to do this repair starting on a saturday, has to be running to drive to work by 6 pm sunday night. no dealer parts counters within 50 miles are even open on saturdays, and only a couple of diffrent auto parts stores none of which keep these things in stock, i finially ordered the diesel site filter system after trying to find all the parts locally for 2 weeks the guys at the parts counters around here couldn't even find the filters let alone a base for them to go on. so i am trying to make sure i have all the orings and gaskets i need to do this job. so what i am really wanting to know is does this look like it has all the orings and gaskets i will need since i am trying not to reuse any old ones? also is there any minor things i need to look for while i have it apart?

In my opinion, unless you have had trouble with the turbo, I wouldn't crack it open. Given the time constraint you'll be under, you'll be doing everything to you to meet your deadline anyways without messing with the turbo. You can always come in later and pull the turbo and clean it which will require a whole other kit for cleaning it, etc.

The cooler rebuild won't be 20 minutes if its dirty like mine and you want to clean it, etc. So plan on a good hour'ish for it from start to finish.

You using a service manual for the assembly/disassembly?

i have a full set of instructions straight from the ford tech manual. they were included with the kits. if the fins in the turbo look decent(not cruded up with soot) then i will leave it alone

The service manuals are invaluable but if you get into a pinch or need ALL the related data for removing/replacing the different related components such as turbo, intake, etc. then check out www.alldatadiy.com

For $29.95 you can get the whole service manual online. It is the Ford service manual too....so well worth the money! Problem is you have to have access to internet close to vehicle...unlike my greasy book!

well its done. i got lucky really and found a guy here that is a ford diesel tech that was willing to do the whole job today during his off hours. all i had to do was drop off the parts and the truck. so new oil cooler installed, egr cooler blocked off, new thermostat, new belt, fresh coolant flushed again that is the 15th time in a week, new coolant filter installed thanks to dieselsite, fresh oil and a new ipr screen.

So my ECT/EOT temp differential was 32 to 35 degrees. now its is about 6-8 degrees and i keep a coolant temp at a even 192 degrees instead of 176 to 185. my old thermo was stuck open a little i think. so now i just need to hook to something heavy and see how it pulls. thnask to everyone here that has provided all this excellent information and advice.

no on to the next fix, tie rod ends
