Hi, I recently bought a '57 F100, but it doesn't have a data plate on the door.
Where can I find the Vin number other than that location?
The papers on the truck read F10K7E38425. That would be correct for the 272 engine it has.
Thanks in advance
Hi, welcome to FTE!
The early 1957's had the rating plate on the door post, but on the later 1957's it was moved to the back of the glove box door. It is also stamped on the frame.
I hope this helps.
My plans are to transform it to a styleside pickup and paint it two tone, maybe white and green.
It wasn't pricey, in fact it was less than 1000 dollars.
It's in good shape and runs strong.
Thanks for your help.
Hi, Ialso have a 57 f100, and had the same problem. I called the California Highway Patrol (they verify all vin #) and was told to look on the top of the frame rail on the passenger side, about six inches from the firewall and I would find it . I did but it took alot of wire brushing.
