I just purchased this truck for $300. It runs and drives pretty well, the frame is in good shape, the front end is tight. I have some problems that need to be worked on. My hope is to use this as my daily driver, as my 350 is expensive on fuel.
Specs: 5.0 motor
133k miles
e4od trans
2wd
3.08 rear axle
It's sometimes hard to start- cranks over a lot, and blows a little smoke when it first starts up.
front brakes seem like they are dragging (by sound) but it drives fine and they don't get hot. What else might it be?
rear fuel tank leaks
needs a lot of body work, and interior is completly destroyed, even the od off part of the shifter handle is destroyed.
What kind of gas mileage should I expect?
Where should I start on repairs? I have to do a little at a time and I don't need it to be pretty, just safe and reliable.
i would start by pulling the codes, then see where i stand,
after that seeings how you are repairing this is for MPG's i would fixs the fuel tank.
if the front brakes sound like something dragging, could be a dust shield rubbing. but i would take the front apart, at the very least it most likely needs a greasing.
