Body swap
I'll be swappiing the bodys on a 67 and 69 F250 trucks.
Has anybody done this? What is the simplest way? Maybe the best question I can ask: what parts do I not have to take apart?
The bed is easy, I've done that before, but what about the front clip and cab?
Is therea way to do the whole front end in one piece? Does the motor have to be pulled?
Any tips to save time and frustration apreciated.
FYI, I have a shop that will fit both trucks (I'll have to clean some) and I have a variety of floor jacks and a 2 Ton shop crane and I can strap stuff to the rafters if needed (did that wth the bed before).

Sounds like the easy way would be to just roll one frame under the other body, if you can get the cabs high enough inside to do it easily. If everything is disconnected from the cab, lift it straight off. I think you'll have to seperate the clip from the cab, with an FE in there, but I'm not positive. Side clearance from the engine to the fender aprons is your worry, so if it wont clear, just lift the clip a few inches and pull it forward to clear it off.
Also, I don't think I would try to lift the clip and cab as an assembly. That's an awful lot of weight to put on the bolts holding the clip to the cab, and you might end up regretting it.
Of course, without other advice telling you it's been done, you wont know till you try!

I agree with frayed sanity. The front clip would also create a balance problem.
A wide nylon strap (sling) works well for lifting a cab. If you have to use a chain I strongly recommend a noched 2x6 extending out a few inches on each side of the cab . It will keep the bind off of the driprail and top. Learned that the hard way. lobuck
