Ok just my luck getting ready to go on vacation & my brakes start grinding. So my question is since i don't have time to wait on the Hawk pads & slotted rotors that i would like to do. What other pads would you guys recomend ?
I have been satisfied with the Motorcraft pads. I tried the NAPA brand one time and they didn't last nearly as long as the OEM pads.
I don't turn my rotors either. I just check to make sure they are flat, slap on the new pads and keep on motoring.
So far so good. 253k miles and counting.
If you are on a time concern, I'd just throw on a set of what ever your parts store has-better than metal to metal and destroying your rotors!
Then get whatever you want & may be turn the rotors when you have time.
I believe Milleroutdoors has a set of the "Yellow Stuff" on the front axle of his rig. I have Hawks on the front of mine, wanted a set of Yellow Stuff's for the rear, but will have Green Stuff's instead........Ebay.....$2.99!
thanks for the input guys i went with a set of oriley ceramic supposed to be the same as wagners. the only reason i did that is i am monitoring another thread about doing a MOD to 2005 calipers & rotors & plobably do the cryo rotors & hawk pads then.
I have the ebc yellowstuffs on the front, soon on the back. 6600 mile road trip confirmed my decision. Dust is similar to oem( for me). I had to order them and it took a few days to get, so time frame wise, you probably made the right choice. I am trying to convince Clay to carry the ebc line,
