If the FG parts do not fit, they can be "adjusted" but be sure to do it the right way with the right products or you'll make a mess that will always show thru or may never harden. I did a post on fiberglass work some time ago, if you can't find it with a search, let me know and I'll see if I have better luck. If they do not fit well and you have no experience with FG then repaing the metal parts might be quicker.

Thanks AX...I read your post on Fibreglass working. I'm not going to get to this for another month or so, but will update with my results.
While we on the topic, standard paint and undercoats OK for use on fibreglass and plastic parts? I need to paint my radio and speaker cover, want to use leftover paint for grill.

Enamels only on plastic parts (cleans up with mineral spirits) "Hotter" (more reactive) solvents may soften/disolve or craze the older plastics. Sometimes you can get lucky and spray lacquers or hot solvents over a catalized primer that was applied in several dry mist coats if the color is also applied in thin dry coats, but I wouldn't experiment with parts that would be difficult or expensive to replace if damaged.
