i thought it was fast before. good lord its fast now. i bout ran it off the road when i gave it gas.-----although im 100% sure the 3" gap in the passenger side radius arm bushing had soemthing to do with it.......obviously next on the to-do list. It needs a little tuning to the carb, but i got it pretty good. She runs like a striped ape now.
Just an oh btw, the Edlbrock has a Tech note in the box that it cannnot take more than 6# of fuel pressure. You read that right. Your average Ford/GM pumps can hit 14-16# in the right conditions. I never sell an Edelbrock carburetor without a fuel pressure regulator. NEVER! The stock mechanical pumps are just too much for them. After seeing a few dozen brought back for warranty claims, you will get busy with the tech sheets.
Edelbrocks are very much like the old Carter AFBs from the Chrylser products years ago and they typically run very light fuel pressure. The needle and seat in the Edelbrocks just cant handle the extra pressure. Anyway, You can adjust a Edlebrock, get it running great, and then with any ambient/temperature changes the carb will again be running like crap. etc
Anyway, there is a MR Gasket product that we sell as the fuel pressure regulator. Problem is that most of the part jockies dont know anything about them. Part No.9710 Usually start the regulator on setting#3 and play around from there. Tons of my customers now run them just ahead of the carb and dont have to tinker with the carbs anymore.
