I only drive mine once or twice per week, and I travel a lot also. When that happens 2 weeks may go by. I have a battery minder wired into the batteries and permanently mounted in the truck. I just plug it in when I park. So far I have not had a battery problem in my first year with a used truck. (2003). Would I have had one otherwise, I can't tell you. But, it this is an easy thing to do to get some peace of mind and a good start in winter.
