sand in coolant filter
Very interesting, huge amount of sand in your filter?? I just cut my first filter open after about 1000 miles, not a drop of sand?? Some small amount of gunk in the bottom of the pleates however. INteresting the difference between engines and filtration of sediment in the coolant. I am still glad I installed it as I have a peace of mind knowing I am protected.
I have a 2004 6.0 with 67000 miles. the only thing went wrong so far is a new turbo @ 59000. I love my 6.0 and I hope it will continue to deliver as it has.

Be afraid, be VERY afraid. The sand has already ended up in your EGR cooler.....I installed mine about 35,000 miles too late! Just got it back from the dealer..... replaced head gaskets. Hopefully, when you had the turbo replaced, they also replaced the EGR and oil coolers.
