You can get a kit at dieselsite.com or dfuser.com. Very easy to install. Even the dimwitted 6.0 owners around here can handle it.
The filter mounts next to your radiator on the passenger side, between the radiator and battery. The hoses tee into your heater supply line and radiator overflow return hose. No drilling, just bolts on.

You can get a coolant filter system from a couple places. I bought mine from DieselSite.com, it came with everything you need to get started and directions were straight foward. Down side is you only get one filter from them to get started. I like the system and my "bling" for a mount for the filter haha. Also having the ball valves made for a easy no mess change of filters. You could also go with a system from Dfuser.com which comes with three filters. They all do the same some look better than others and some come with things the other one doesn't.
Moral of the story, either way you go you will get what you need to get started, and I am a true believer that this is a MUST to have on your vehicle.
Drained all the fluid out and took a Dremal Tool with small cutting wheel too it..I cut it right above the bottom of the filter where the paper end starts...figured any metal shavings would just go onto the paper...and when I took it apart there was a very very small amount of metal on the paper from the cut...Worked great I thought!

And I have a Dremal sitting on the shelf and busted my butt with a hack saw.Damn That's why I love FTE always learning something new Thanks f350fixaliter
haha yeah not a problem... dont feel bad it was 106 outside when I cut mine open so I was dripping sweat all over my garage floor
Man the heat down here is unbearable and the humidity. All I do is go outside and I sweating. Heat Index the last few days was 107-110
Have to do work on truck (Oil Cooler & EGR Delete) waiting for the cooler weather.

All i had handy at the time was a hammer, flat head screwdriver, and pair of dites....was wondering how everyone was getting that filter apart.
I just tore mine apart the other day and found very very little debris, just a little grit. This was the second filter i put on, had about 3000 miles on it. The first one i put on i changed at 500 miles, couldn't see any debris on that one either. Anyway I guess my system is clean at this point.
Just an FYI on my coolant system experience,
Miles on Truck 130,000
-1st coolant flush ever at 114,000 miles (all stock up to this point, then got studs and egr blocked)
-1st coolant filter at about 126500 miles
-2ed coolant filter at 127000 miles, just changed it and was clean
