I have a 1997 E350 V10 motorhome. When I put the trans into drive and move alittle the speedometer needle raises to approx 38 mph. I am at an idle lol. If I drive this way it does not go higher regardless of how fast.
If I then put it into park it still registers 38. If I turn the engine off it will drop to zero after 9 seconds.
I have no shifting problems. I have no codes stored or lights on the dash. The Odometer and tripmeter work Good.
Any pointers would be great.
I have a 94 E350 460 motorhome I had a jumpy speedo and funky shifting and it was the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) and bad wire splice. Yours may be a bad speedo or lubrication issue on the speedo?
Yes , I will take a look for that. I did read that the signal from the vss goes to the pcm and then to the cluster where it splits to the odometer and the speedometer. If what I read is correct I assume the problem must be in the cluster. I would just like to confirm it before changeing it. lol.
