RacerX, please explain HOW your valve body 'helps' the trans.
A custom Valve Body directs the pressure @ shift points where and when it's needed. The enhanced shift points reduce clutch heat and extend overall clutch life. It also provides minimum overlap of the active components @ shift points. This reduces wear on the transmissions hard parts.
Tuning alone can't direct pressure where and when it's needed like a valve body. A Valve Body can be used with tuning to enhance increased engine horsepower from larger injectors and the extra fuel tuning itself provides. Custom tuners who actually write their tunes and perform live tuning know it, such as DP, Swamps and others. A stock bodies weak points makes their job harder and a guessing game at times. All the weak points in stock transmissions themselves do also. A tuners success depends on mechanical parts in the final analysis, just as engine horsepower increases do.

Ya, we'd love to have you on board here. I'm very happy with my vb and glad your company was mentioned to me to use, not knowing of you being fairly new here at the time.

If you wanna know how young your transmission is dump the oil and filter and cut open your filter and then open up the filter media, it will open up like a piece of paper folded in 2 with our trucks.
I did it on mine with 150k miles on it and I got a lil bit of clutch material, ran it down to a good trans. shop local to me and he said that its nothing to worry about, I dont see enough cut open filters to know whats bad and good but a little bit is to be expected from what I gathered as the filter is doing its job.
BUT, when I cut open the filter on my grandprix GTP with 110k miles and saw how plugged it was, I knew it was time for rebuild as it was FULL of clutch material. I pulled the trans out and got the shop to open it up and out of 6 clutchs(if i recall) on my 2nd gear clutch pack only 2 of them had material remaining. Shop said the trans. was ready to go any day and I likly saved myself money by taking it out before it blew up.
Saved me from being stranded just by doing this as I was taking a trip up into the mountains on vacation 6 weeks later.
Darin, which valve body do you have? Could you get me a link? I am ready to pull the trigger on some stage 1's and a chip, but i just can't justify the built tranny right now. Also, RacerX, first of all, we would love to have you as a sponsor, thank you for explaining the valve body question. So, in your honest opinion, would a valve body help my tranny out with stage 1 injectors and a chip? I will only be shooting for 320hp because i dont have an intercooler or electric fuel or upgraded hpop. The tranny was rebuilt not long ago and shifts firm. I feel as though it is strong but i know it wont like doubling its horsepower. I appreciate all your opinions guys. I'm on my own on this one, Dad doesn't like diesel much so he isn't as big of a help as he was when i had my Camaro.
James, I have a "hybrid" version, couldn't tell you the part number though. What I did was call them and explain my truck mods to them and they built mine and sent it out. Really isn't a bad price either, you can send yours in as a core after you take it out. When I talked to them I was thinking of a shift kit, then they said the vb would be much better. I'm glad I went that way, as the cost like I said isn't bad at all.
FYI if you do much heavy towing or hard running you will more than likely set a cel under heavy load or hard acceleration with the stage ones and chip with the stock hpop..

Thanks, i will give them a call soon and see what they can do for me. And i know about the CEL but im not worried about running stock oil for now.
