Ok I have a 2000 ford f-150, my problem is that my engine is shaking and there is a knock. Usually when i'm decreasing in speed. I already changed the spark plugs and wires so i dont know. Can anyone help?
Welcome to the Forum....We are going to need more info to help diagnose the problem,CEL? Miles showing,V8/6,Automatic/Standard etc.If its the V-8 we,ll need to know the size,v-6 has always been (to my knowledge) a 4.2.
If you DO have a CEL(Check Engine Light) the code(s) would be helpful.
Im sure once the above info has been posted, someone will have some good pointers............
It's a V6/ 4.2, Automatic. I tried a new coil pack too, but sadly still not the solution. It sounds like a diesel engine and it does shake when i give it throttle ( in gear). Some friends said it could be a fuel problem. I'm still unsure. However I'm taking it to get a compression test dont tomorrow.
The CEL is on and it does two different codes i'm imagining. It will either stay lit or it will end up blinking alot. No, i haven't counted so I guess that is useless.
well id imagine everyone can agree, its obviously a miss. a knocking sound, a shake, and a flashing CEL. time for new spark plug wires, spark plugs, and coil pack.
